I walked out to the edge of my porch
and I watched the sunset alone
as the sun slowly creeped itself under Pittsburgh
I wished it would crash into you

this jacket feels so cold tonight
it seems to fit my mood
when I look at the street it looks like a mirror
it's walked all over and covered in cinders

it's freezing outside
but it's not as cold as you
these dead trees are my only company
but even they still seem to grin at me

in two months they'll be covered in leaves with birds singing
and I'll be stuck here alone

I'm on the porch
I'll be here all night
if you happen to drive by
just stop and say "hi"
